Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what we need to run a small, early-stage service for home buyers and the agents who serve them. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t run advertising trackers.
Who we are
KeyCountdown (“we,” “us”) makes branded progress links that let home buyers see where their purchase stands, and sells that service to real estate agents and brokerages. This policy covers this website, our demo pages, and the buyer links we host for agents.
What we collect
- From agents and brokerages who join our waitlist or contact us: name, email, brokerage or team, role, yearly transaction volume, and optionally what you’d expect to pay.
- From buyers’ progress links. When an agent sets up a link for a buyer, the agent gives us details such as the buyer’s first name, the property address, loan type, key dates, the current step, and any notes the agent adds. A buyer doesn’t create an account and doesn’t need to give us anything. We handle this information on behalf of the agent and brokerage who set up the link.
- Branding the agent provides: logo, colors, name, headshot, and optionally a photo of the home.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records things such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
The demo pages use fictional data. Anything you change in a demo is saved only in your own browser and never sent to us.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
- We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party analytics at this time. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.
- We don’t text buyers yet. Text updates in the product are previews. If we turn on real texting, we will only text people who opted in, we won’t share phone numbers for marketing, and we’ll update this policy and the opt-in language first.
How we use it
- To reply to you, set up your account, and run the service you asked for.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems, and improve it.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Who else sees it
- The agent and brokerage whose branded link a buyer is viewing. They are the ones who gave us that deal’s information.
- Service providers that help us operate: website hosting and form handling (currently Netlify), and email. If we add payments or texting, we’ll use providers such as a payment processor or a messaging provider, which will see only what they need to do their job.
- Google Fonts. To display our typeface, your browser downloads font files from Google, which means Google can see your IP address.
- Legal and safety. If a law, court, or valid legal request requires it, or to protect someone’s rights or safety.
- A future owner, if we’re ever merged with or acquired by another business. We’d tell you first.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist and contact information until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it. Deal information for a buyer’s link is kept while the agent uses it, and we’ll delete it on the agent’s request, or on the buyer’s request through their agent or directly to us.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, including California and Nevada, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of, but you can still send us that request and we’ll confirm. To make a request, use the form on our home page. We may need to confirm it’s you, and if you’re a buyer we may need to involve your agent. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limiting who can access information. No method of storing or sending data is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise otherwise. Please don’t put sensitive details such as Social Security numbers, bank details, or passwords into any notes or forms.
Children
This service is for adults buying homes and for the professionals who serve them. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, if we have your email, let you know.
